Laminate Care & Maintenance
Laminate Care & Maintenance
Laminate care & maintenance, while relatively simple, can go a long way in prolonging the lifespan of your floors. Learn more about basic laminate care & maintenance and how to handle stains and spills in our care guide below.
Regular Care
When it comes to maintaining your laminate floors, a little sweeping can go a long way. By investing in a high-quality broom and dustpan and putting it to work on a regular basis, every day or so, then you can help to ensure that your laminate floor continues to withstand the test of time. Sweeping is important as it helps to eliminate dirt, dust, and other debris from your vinyl. These substances can work their way into the cracks and crevasses of your flooring, providing long-term damage.
You may also want to place doormats at the entrances of your home and encourage your guests to remove their shoes before entering.
Stains & Spills
With laminate flooring, spills and stains are not cause for concern. When and if a substance is spilled, simply wipe it up in a timely manner to prevent damage to the subflooring. The longer you wait to address the spill, the more likely it is that the substance works its way into the crevasses of the flooring. Should something you spill cause lingering damage to your laminate, consult your manufacturer for advice on how to proceed.
