That's a Wrap: Top Trending Patterned Carpet for 2024

Our showroom staff is often asked, “What is the most popular carpet to install as a stair runner?” This makes sense because it can be tough for homeowners to keep up with the latest flooring trends and styles. Our staff is happy to highlight our top sellers from this past year, so let's take a look at the top 5 selling runners from 2024. 

While our most popular carpet selections are neutral, solid carpet that we stock, many of our customers are seeking patterned stair runners. The list below reflects the most popular patterned carpet used in residential installations this year, and excludes our stock carpet.

1.  Tuftex Always Natural- This is our most popular runner.  With a herringbone pattern in 18 chic colors, we can see why our customers love this as a stair runner. This is 100% Anso High Performance Nylon, making it perfectly suited for homes with pets and high traffic. Our team installed Always Natural in the color Fossil in Bala Cynwyd. We templated this installation to contour the shape of the hallway and steps.

2.  Gulistan Floor Coverings Eternal- This manufacturer had been around since 1924, recently relaunching after a hiatus in the early 2000’s. With the same commitment to style and quality, Gulistan offers this beautiful subtle herringbone pattern, Eternal, that we offer as a stock product in select colors. This is a nylon carpet with pet stain protection and comes in 6 neutral colors. You can see this installation we did in Wayne, PA of Eternal in the color Mohair.

3.  Nourison Pacific Stripe-  This broadloom carpet is a low pile carpet that is 50% wool, 50% polypropylene. This carpet is dense, but soft, offering a unique combination that is durable for busy homes with heavy traffic. With  11 colors, our customers have found one that suits their style. Below, we are featuring a Pacific Stripe runner we installed on a curved staircase in Berwyn that has 3” cotton binding. 

4.  Tuftex Stroll- With all loop construction, the dense strands of this carpet are durable and great for homes with pets and kids. Our customers also love that this carpet has a small scaled diamond pattern offered in 13 colors with grey, cream, and beige bases. Here, we are showcasing an installation we completed of Stroll in the color Seaport Blue with wide 3” cotton binding in Thornton, PA.

5.  Tuftex Springers Point- Another outstanding carpet that is not only stylish, but tough as well is Springers Point. With its classic, small diamond design and production in 13 different color choices, there are both warm and cool tones to match existing paint colors in your home. Springers Point is part of a Shaw’s Pet Perfect Collection, a line of residential carpets designed to withstand the daily wear and tear that floors endure from pets.
